RESEARCH PHASE
To understand what are the issues current users of various job boards like LinkedIN, Indeed, Glassdoor are facing,
I developed a research plan for 6 users that met the demographics of existing job boards audience.
I asked the users a series of questions to their pain points.

Alex Parker
Recruiter
“Job boards just aren’t giving me the candidates I’m looking for.”

Liam Carter
Job seeker
"Job matchers just don’t get what makes me unique."

Ryan Mitchell
Recruiter
“Current tools don’t let me filter candidates the way I want.”

Davis Sophie
Job seeker
“Getting my profile to really stand out is a challenge.”

Harris Emit
Job seeker
“Juggling my skills across different sites is a hassle.”

Jenna Thompson
Recruiter
“It’s hard to tell if a candidate’s portfolio is legit.”
DEFINE THE PROBLEM
Met with the Founder of the company and defined their pain points and needs. Their main concern was despite numerous job boards and networking platforms, job seekers struggle to showcase their skills effectively, leading to missed opportunities, while recruiters face difficulty finding candidates with the right skills and cultural fit. Inefficient matching, poor portfolio integration, and limited search capabilities result in a frustrating experience for both sides.
How can we create a user-friendly platform that enhances the visibility of professionals, accurately matches them with relevant job opportunities, and provides recruiters with efficient tools to find and verify candidates who truly fit their needs?
THE CHALLENGE
EMPATHY MAP

Using the insights from the research I began sketching my low fidelity design with regular check-in with the founder and director to implement their feedback before we start our high fidelity designs

DESIGN PROCESS
DESIGN SYSTEM

To maintain consistency and scalability throughout the design process, I developed a design system. This included a comprehensive set of reusable components, typography, color schemes, and interaction patterns that aligned with the platform’s modern, user-friendly aesthetic. The design system served as the foundation for all design decisions, ensuring a cohesive experience across the platform and simplifying collaboration with developers.

"I want to find a job that aligns with my interests and skills."
"I’m not sure how to showcase my work from different platforms."
"Is this platform trustworthy with my data?"
"Will this platform help me stand out to recruiters?"
"How can I make my profile as comprehensive as possible?"
"What if my portfolio links aren’t properly verified?"
Sign up on The Nirvana Labs.
Upload resume and link portfolios (GitHub, Dribbble, etc.).
Explore the platform to see how well his profile is indexed and presented
He feels confident knowing that the system presents profile with all the necessary details neatly compiled in one place.
Confident when the system verifies her handles and indexes her profile accurately.
Relieved knowing that her portfolio is easily discoverable by potential employers.
The unique and abstract nature of
"The Nirvana Labs" could make it harder for recruiters to find the site through search engines, as it lacks keywords directly related to recruitment and candidate profiles.
The average session duration increased by 45%, indicating that visitors were able to follow the intended user flow without feeling lost, resulting in a smoother overall experience.
Added Hover highlighting :This feature enhances user experience by providing visual feedback, indicating that the element is interactive or can be clicked on

CONTEXT
By changing the website name to something more relevant we observed a
30% reduction in bounce rate.
